なんか Linux の Dropbox が動かなくなったので調べてみたらこんなエラーがでていた：
Unable to monitor entire Dropbox folder hierarchy. Please run "echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=100000 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf; sudo sysctl -p" and restart Dropbox to fix the problem.
この fs.inotify.max_user_watches というのはファイルを監視する数で、1 ファイルあたり 1KB くらいメモリが必要らしい。で、書いてあるとおり 100000 を指定してみたけど、まだ足りないっぽい。いま Dropbox の容量は 2TB もあるので使いきれないほどあるけど、実際に運用する場合はいろんな制限があるんだな。
